Introduction and Basic Services

Located in the Greater Los Angeles, California’s San Fernando Valley, Valley Detox Center for Addiction is licensed through the California Department of Health Care Services. Founded fairly recently in 2016, Valley Detox is a private, luxury facility that provides detox and short-term inpatient care for all drug and alcohol addictions. Valley Detox is a unique detox experience in that the staff integrates standard therapies with holistic methods to create a highly customized program that closely monitors client’s progress.

Facility and Meals

Situated in the quiet suburb of Van Nuys, clients of Valley Detox stay in a luxury estate home with plenty of space and amenities. With only six individuals in the house at a time, clients can enjoy both community and privacy. Each resident has a roommate, and each bedroom is equipped with a TV and two full-sized beds. Common rooms have TV and gaming tables. Clients are not allowed access to personal computers or cell phones during their stay at Valley Detox.

Valley Detox employs an on-site chef that prepares all meals with a focus on a balanced and nutritious diet. The culinary team can accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, if needed.

Treatment Protocol and Team

Valley Detox facilitates a medically-supervised detox that typically lasts between three and 10 days. If needed, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) via Suboxone is provided to ease the symptoms of opiate withdrawal. The second stage of inpatient treatment usually takes between 14 and 21 days, though it is dependent on the specific needs of the client. While in treatment, residents attend several group sessions daily as well as mental health classes. Twice a week, clients see a therapist for individual sessions.

All counselors at Valley Detox are trained in CBT and DBT, as well as EMDR, in an effort to alleviate trauma issues that may be a contributing component in addiction. Peer support is paramount for recovery. To this end, the facility encourages residents to get involved with local 12-step, Refuge Recovery and SMART Recovery groups. Toward the end of treatment, clients create a detailed aftercare plan with their therapist.

It is worth noting, Valley Detox offers limited dual diagnosis support. As such, individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders are usually referred to a residential treatment with the necessary resources.

Under the leadership of the CEO, Lonnie McCreery, who has extensive expertise in addiction treatment, the Valley Detox staff is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team including medical professionals specializing in detox, psychologists, around-the-clock nursing staff and registered alcohol and drug technicians.

Bonus Amenities

A healthy fitness routine is deemed vital for clients’ recovery os the facility offers weekly yoga therapy, in addition to an LA Fitness membership. Residents are expected to work out regularly at the gym, which has a pool and racquetball courts.

Summary

Clients seeking a comfortable environment to begin their recovery journey would do well to seek care through the Valley Detox Center for Addiction. The luxury facility employs a diverse, experienced staff, that fosters individualized treatment plans as well as a thorough attention to aftercare stratagies. In addition, Valley Detox accepts most insurances.
