Prescription drug addiction is a serious condition that is difficult to overcome. Left untreated, this disorder can lead to many different problems, including health-related complications, trouble with family and friends, financial concerns and more. Fortunately, you can recover from this condition with the right treatment.
Although medical treatment can be expensive, it is often necessary in order to achieve a full recovery. Before you can enter a treatment program, you must first undergo detoxification in order to remove the drug from your body. Luckily, if you have coverage from LifeSynch, you may have access to detox at a lower cost.
About LifeSynch Programs
LifeSynch offers three different programs that may cover prescription drug addiction treatment: employee assistance programs, behavioral healthcare programs and behavior change coaching. Employers can offer one or more of these programs to their employees. LifeSynch also allows employers to customize these programs based on their individual needs. The program your employer offers, as well as any customizations, will determine whether you qualify for LifeSynch Prescription Drug Detox coverage.
Employee Assistance Program
If your employer offers a basic employee assistance program, detox won’t typically be covered. However, you may be eligible for telephone and/or face-to-face counseling services for prescription drug addiction.
Behavioral Healthcare Program
If your employer provides a carve-out behavioral healthcare program, you may have access to inpatient or outpatient detox, in addition to other types of prescription drug treatment.
Behavior Change Coaching
A basic behavior change coaching plan from LifeSynch won’t typically cover prescription drug detox. However, this service may help you as you overcome your addiction.
Other Considerations
As you plan to enter detox, keep the following issues in mind:
- You may need to use a certain facility. If you are eligible for LifeSynch Prescription Drug Detox coverage, you may have to use a certain doctor or facility in order to receive benefits.
- You may need permission from LifeSynch. Some treatments, such as inpatient detox, may require express permission from LifeSynch. This is known as “precertification.”
- You may have to pay some of your expenses. Some LifeSynch plans may have cost-sharing requirements. This means that you must pay a portion of your own expenses.
