Introduction and Basic Services

The Scott of Kauai, Hawaii is a luxury boutique private facility that offers dual diagnosis and pain management specialty services to clients with specific treatment needs. The Scott is named after philanthropist Scott J. Lavin who dedicated his life to helping those in need, and specifically addicts who are seeking recovery. There are several facilities in the US and in Europe, and The Scott prides itself on giving its clients the utmost in treatment experience with an extremely high privacy level.

Facility and Meals

The Scott offers a variety of individualized treatment plans, all of which provide full privacy and five star accommodations. In some cases, clients can request the treatment team come to them wherever they are in the world, or receive treatment right in their own homes. Clients also have the option to choose where they would like their treatment to take place and The Scott is able to make arrangements to accommodate them.

Regardless of where clients reside during their treatment, The Scott guarantees a first class experience. Between the European and US options, there are luxury villas, ocean side resort style homes and even yachts. Virtually anything a client requests can be provided—including accommodating family members, partners, assistants and even pets if needed.

Clients are always permitted to have their phones and personal devices with them, and have access to WiFi, along with cable TV.

Food is prepared by an on-site gourmet chef who creates meals that are organic and nutritient-dense. Clients can request whatever food they’d like as long as it coordinates with the guidelines that the nutritionist set while in treatment.

Treatment Protocol and Team

Programming is fully tailored to each invidiual’s preferences and can include medical detox or pain management, as well as various holistic and best practice approaches.

There is no typical day when it comes to the programming through this facility, as The Scott is so highly personalized to suit each client's very specific needs and requests. Every treatment plan is different, and clients are able to receive a la carte methods and modalities. There are several individual sessions daily and 12-step meetings are offered. If a group setting would be more suitable, those are also available too. Therapy includes DBT, EMDR and relapse prevention education.

There is a small staff of psychiatrists, LPC and medical experts that serve the clientele base, along with a remote team of clinicians all over the world.

The Scott’s family program, referred to as Family Des Concierge, has shown to have a positive impact on the long-term sobriety of its clients. This is also an individualized program, created to best suit each family’s unique needs. There are also aftercare options and outpatient referrals.

Bonus Amenities

The Scott team places a strong emphasis on healing the body in addition to the mind, so clients can expect spa treatments like massages, as often as they like.

Activities offered can include pearl farming, scuba diving, horseback riding, safari tours, shark feeding, and basically anything else the client would like to do while in treatment.

Summary

The Scott caters to those who need seclusion and privacy while undergoing treatment, along with the best of services and five star, comprehensive programming. The staff bends over backwards to serve its clients and provide them with an amazing and therapeutic experience, and hopefully set a solid foundation for recovery.
