Introduction and Basic Services

Rocky Mountain Treatment Center in Great Falls, Montana provides a range of substance abuse treatment services that include detox and residential care along with a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This facility makes the most of its beautifully scenic location by encourging clients to devlop an active lifestyle and participate in outdoor activities like equine therapy. The treatment philosphy is based on the 12 steps, but every program is customized to provide clients with an individualized treatment experience.

Facility and Meals

The men and women participating in the detox and residential programs are housed in a 26 bed, three story building that used to be a convent and was recently restored. The bedrooms are divided by gender and sleep two or three per room. They are fully furnished with full beds, night stands and storage space for personal items. Shared common areas include a living room, dining room, meeting rooms and a chapel.

There is an industrial kitchen where all the meals are prepared by a full-time kitchen staff. Meals are served family style and made freshly every day, keeping in mind the highest nutritional standards.

Treatment Protocol and Team

This facility offers a 30, 60 or 90 day program that is individualized to each client's specific needs. Incoming clients go through an in-depth assessment and those who are in need of detox can do so on-site. The process lasts three to seven days on average, and clients are medically monitored and undergo individual therapy before beginning their formal residential treatment.

Clients with co-occurring disorders are able to receive medication management in addition to a standard treatment program of at least two group sessions daily and one individual session per week. Group sessions address relapse prevention techniques, coping skills, identifying triggers and other common issues. The groups are both co-ed or gender-specific, depending on the topic. There is an emphasis on spiritual support along with holistic methods, with daily 12-step meetings on-site in addition to weekly Big Book study groups. There is weekly equine therapy and recreational therapy along with experiential modalities. Mindfulness meditation and breath work is also integrated into treatment programs.

There is a large staff with extensive experience working with clients who are struggling with addiction. This includes medical doctors and nursing staff, psychiatrists, CADCs, LADCs, case managers and a nutritionist.

Family participation is encouraged, and the family program includes day-long workshops offering education and counseling in both an individual and group setting. Treatment is on a step-down system and includes an option for aftercare in the form of the PHP offered at this facility.

Bonus Amenities

Clients have several recreational outings during their time in treatment. Some examples may be taking an art class, going to the movies, weekly karaoke, gardening, hiking, basketball and volleyball, and visiting some of the historic sites in Great Falls. To encourge physical fitness, clients are also given a free membership to the local gym.

Summary

Rocky Mountain Treatment Center aims to provide clients with sustained peace and health using holistic treatments and an array of modalities. The facility offers a traditional 12-step foundation in conjuncion with plenty of exercise and outdoor therapy. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment at Rocky Mountain Treatment Center, rather clients are encouraged to explore several different avenues as they build a life in recovery.
