Introduction and Basic Services

Founded in 2017, The Recovery Village Ridgefield is a treatment center set in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest in Ridgefield, Washington. Treating adult men and women, the organization offers a variety of individually designed detox, residential and outpatient programs. It is part of the larger Recovery Village network, which has locations throughout the United States.

Facility and Meals

The Recovery Village Ridgefield has a total of 80 beds spread across a variety of gender-specific small cottage style homes on its country club style campus. There are both single and semi-private bedrooms that house two clients at a time. Single rooms have a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom, however the additional cost of a single room is not covered by health insurance. All bedrooms are sparsely but tastefully furnished with a shaded reading lamp and a two-drawer cabinet for storage of personal effects. All rooms have wide windows for natural lighting.

Treatment and housing facilities are on the same acreage. Other facilities on site include a gym and a media house for relaxation.

Meals are served in a cafeteria and prepared by a professional chef with the input of a dietician for clients with special diet needs. The meals offered include a healthy mix of organic and non-organic foods.

Treatment Protocol and Team

Recovery Village runs an alcohol detox program that lasts seven to 10 days, while detox from other substances takes several weeks to months depending on the type of substance addiction. Clients undergoing detox are put on residential treatment for closer supervision and monitoring.

In the residential treatment program clients are taken through traditional and evidence-based therapy methods like CBT, DBT and EDMR. The client has several weekly individual sessions as well as group therapy sessions. Art, music and sports activities are also applied for more holistic healing.

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a step-down from residential treatment. PHP clients typically come in five to seven days each week and have 18 to 20 hours of treatment. Clients in the PHP have daily group therapy sessions including specialist and peer group sessions. Several individual sessions are also scheduled each week. Therapy sessions cover different topics including substance abuse, sexual assertiveness and family patterns among other topics the therapist may see fit to discus. The client is also taken through the 12 steps to help in achieving long-term sobriety. Family members are also included in the therapy sessions if the therapist feels they are part of the problem and hence have to be part of the solution.

The organization also runs an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The IOP is designed to last three months or more and consists of both group and individual therapy.

This facility is 12-step oriented and clients attend daily AA meetings and are taken through the 12-steps principles in group therapy.

The organization is also dual diagnosis and offers mental health treatment and medication management.

Recovery Village runs an aftercare program designed to help clients cope with triggers that may lead to relapse. This program involves individual sessions, an aftercare support group and moving into a sober home if there is the need. Aftercare can be attended indefinitely.

The members of staff include LPCs, LMHCs, RNs, MDs, psychologists and dieticians. The organization also has sports therapists on the team to help with physical rehabilitation. All therapists at this center are qualified at Master’s level or higher.

Bonus Amenities

Clients are allowed off campus extracurricular activities like shopping in the nearby town. The organization integrated holistic activities like yoga and meditation, as well as group sports like laser tagging.
