Introductions and Basic Services

Founded in 2015, the Recovery Village of Palmer Lake is located in Denver, Colorado and is a member of the larger nationwide Recovery Village network. Situated just over an hour from the Denver airport, this drug and alcohol rehab center offers residential treatment, outpatient care and detox to adult men and women,

Facility and Meals

The residence has both shared and single bedrooms and services no more than 40 clients at any time. Each room has one to two large beds with plush pillows, a bedside table with a lamp, a small study table and a large flat screen TV. The facility is filled with expansive floor to ceiling windows that allow plenty of sunlight. Men and women live in separate areas.

The grounds have a spa, a gym and a pool. The gym is equipped with treadmills, press up benches and stationary bikes. The Recovery Village also has large rooms for group therapy and smaller rooms for one-on-one therapy sessions.

There is an on-site site chef and dietician who prepare and serve three meals a day. The chef works to accommodate any dietary restriction or need clients may have.

Residential treatment clients and clients in detox are not allowed to have either cell phones or laptops. Clients may however go in to town or outside the facility under strict supervision.

Treatment Protocol and Team

If clients are undergoing withdrawal symptoms when they enter treatment, Recovery Village offers a medical detox program. The detox program typically runs for five to 10 days and clients are monitored 24 hours a day by the organization’s medical staff. During detox, clients are provided with medical treatment, massages and hydrotherapy. Detox clients are also fed calming and easy to digest meals, and stay in comfortable and dark resting spaces.

Treatment at Recovery Village is highly individualized and counselors develop a treatment plan that is designed to meet the specific needs of each client.

Recovery Village offers residential treatment with clients having the option of 30, 60 and 90-day programs. The treatment consists of both group and individual therapy with clients attending individual sessions at least three times a week and multiple group sessions a day. Counselors use evidence-based treatment methods including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

The organization offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) program as well. Treatment in the PHP involves individual and group therapy coupled with exercise and family sessions. Clients under the PHP program come in during the day and return home at night.

The Recovery Village’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is either flexible or acute IOP. The flexible IOP allows the client to set their own schedule while the acute program is more intensive and counselors help design the schedule. The IOPs consist of both group and individual therapy one to three times a week.

Family members can take part in both group and individual therapy sessions. Also, facility runs friends and family weekend events as an opportunity for the staff to meet with important people in the client’s life.

The Recovery Village can treat dual diagnosis and offers mental health care for clients with co-occurring disorders. It also facilitates medication management when necessary.

Recovery Village introduces the 12 steps and clients attend AA and NA meetings in the evenings.

The staff at the facility is made up of RNs, CSACs, LCSWs and a medical doctor who specializes in addiction medication.
