Introduction and Basic Services

Located an hour and a half from both Philadelphia and Baltimore, Bracebridge Hall is part of the Recovery Centers of America (RCA) network. Founded in 2016, RCA aims to treat the whole person with an overall mission to care for one million clients “one neighborhood at a time” across America. Bracebridge Hall is a luxury treatment facility that caters to executive clients struggling with substance abuse disorders and those in need of dual diagnosis support. A full curriculum is offered including detox, residential care, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and general outpatient.

Facility and Meals

Residents stay in an extravagant 40,000 square foot waterfront estate overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. The facility is equipped with 10 beds in the detox program as well as another 26 for residential treatment use. Residents enjoy world-class accommodations including ultra-soft pillow-top mattresses and high quality linens. In addition to the comfortable furnishings, every room is equipped with flat-screen TVs. While most individuals have roommates, there is an option to move into a private room at extra cost.

There are beautiful common rooms with TVs in the facility, as well as a physical fitness studio, tennis and basketball courts, a spa and meditation and yoga rooms all located on the sprawling campus. Clients also take advantage of the business center and a monitored use of their laptop and electronic devices. There is also a golf simulator and a gorgeous 150 foot dock stretching into the Bay.

Residents enjoy delicious cuisine while at Bracebridge Hall. The culinary team includes an on-site chef and a nutritionist that plans every meal with an eye on a healthy, balanced diet. The team boasts “farm-to-table” meals in a restaurant-style environment. All dietary preferences and restrictions are accommodated.

Treatment Protocol and Team

Bracebridge can provide detox for those clients in need. The process typically lasts between five and seven days. From there, clients transition immediately into residential treatment. Before beginning residential care, clients undergo an assessment to help determine the best program to fit their needs. Clients then work with a clinical team to create an individualized program.

Bracebridge combines evidence-based therapies with general wellness activities into client’s treatment. Residential care typically lasts 28 days, though lengths of stay can vary depending on the specific needs of the client. The facility keeps clients busy and offers a vast array of methods to choose from. Along with group therapy several times daily and weekly individual

therapy, residents also participate in daily educational and experiential seminars. Client groups engage in relapse prevention, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and an introduction to the 12-step process, as well as meditation work, spiritual counsel, art and music therapy. General wellness classes including nutritional counseling, anger management and communication development are included as well as medication management. In addition, residents attend 12-step meeting in the evenings on campus.

A key component to sustained, long-term recovery is the effective transition back into the community. To this end, Bracebridge focuses on discharge planning as soon as clients begin treatment. An aftercare plan is created with the possibility of outpatient care. In addition, the RCA network boasts a strong alumni program that provides employment services and ongoing education, with a specific importance placed on mentoring.

The team at Bracebridge Hall includes a consulting psychiatrist, psychologists, physicians, Master’s-level addiction counselors, case managers, clinical social workers and a nursing staff.

Bonus Amenities

Surrounded by nature and the Chesapeake, Bracebridge Hall offers plenty in the way of experiential therapy. Outdoor adventure therapy is a weekly event while in treatment and the facility offers waterfront yoga, a putting green, music, yoga and several miles of hiking trails.

Families are encouraged to become involved in client’s recovery, with an open invitation to visit during the weekends. Workshops and therapy sessions are also available.
