The Daily Mail has reported that Mark Vanderpump, the brother of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump, was found dead in his home from an apparent drug overdose in Gloucestershire, England on April 30, 2018.

In a statement to the Mail, Lisa Vanderpump wrote that she was trying to "be supportive to his two young sons that he has left behind, and help them get through this tragedy."

Mark Vanderpump, 59, worked as a DJ and like his sister, appeared occasionally on reality television, most notably the documentary Gold Diggers and Proud for British television.

He was also a frequent visitor to Lisa Vanderpump's home in Beverly Hills, California, and a regular guest at her restaurants, which include PUMP and Sur, the location featured in Vanderpump Rules.

In her statement to the Mail, Lisa Vanderpump wrote that she had been in communication with her brother on April 29, one day before his death.

Vanderpump said that her brother's death was a "shock to us all" and that she was "completely unprepared for this."

Mark Vanderpump had reportedly experienced considerable turmoil in his personal life prior to the suspected overdose.

According to the Mail, he had recently ended a 22-year marriage and was involved in a headline-grabbing conflict between British businessman Mike Ramsey and his then-wife, model Gemma Ramsey, with whom Vanderpump was alleged to have had an affair.

The Vanderpump siblings also had their share of public disagreements: Lisa and Mark were reportedly involved in a shouting match at a New York restaurant in January 2018, and as Radar Online reported, Mark appeared to underscore what Lisa has described as a lack of support for her business and television ventures from her family when he tweeted, "As your brother, @lisavanderpump, you need to get your skinny a— back to England and stop p—ing on about reality TV" in 2015.

The Mail also quoted an unnamed family member in the United Kingdom who said, "Mark was living a very colorful life until it all sadly went wrong."

According to the Mail, sources have said that Vanderpump will be traveling to the UK for her brother's funeral, though those plans remain unconfirmed at this time. It was also noted that she has been inactive on social media since receiving the news of her brother's death, which has been attributed to caring for his two sons.
