Kim Kardashian Seeks Solution For Her Anxiety

Social media superstar Kim Kardashian has opened up about her anxiety in one of the latest episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, even meeting with a therapist on the show. 

Kardashian was allegedly tied up and robbed at gunpoint on Oct. 3 in a hotel in Paris. She hasn't been the same since, and has stayed uncharacteristically quiet on social media.  

The mother of two said that her anxiety is particularly bad when she is driving. “I think about it all the time, it drives me crazy,” Kardashian said, according to People. “I just want to get past my anxiety and live life … I never had anxiety and I want to take back my life.”

She also talked to her friend, Jonathan Cheban. “I’ve been having anxiety lately,” Kardashian said. “I am not this person.”

Kardashian sat down with her mother, Kris Jenner, to talk about her anxiety and similar issues that her half-sister and reality show co-star, Kendall Jenner, has been having. Kendall has been dealing with sleep paralysis and panic attacks, and is afraid to fly alone.

Kardashian told her mother, “My mind does go crazy.” Jenner was understanding. “When you get into your own head it’s scary and you don’t want to let it get to the next step,” she said. “That’s debilitating … and you can’t live life.”

She recommended that both young women talk to a professional and get a hold of their anxieties before they spiral out of control. 

“I think we should find somebody for you two to talk to, so this doesn’t get bigger than it already is,” Jenner said. 

Later in the show, Kardashian and Kendall both met with a therapist who taught them coping strategies. Kardashian was receptive, even taking a drive with the therapist in order to practice calming herself. Kendall, however, was not as open to the therapist’s suggestions, something that left her sister worried. 

“I really pride myself in fully having my shit together all the time,” Kardashian said on the show. “With how bad things are with Kendall, she has to get this under control.”

Kris Jenner said she hopes the sisters can support each other in dealing with their mental health struggles. “It’s really ironic that Kim and Kendall are going through similar things,” she said. “Maybe there’s a way they can help each other manage their anxiety.”

During the last scene of the show, that’s exactly what the Kardashian and Kendall did, taking a private meditation class together. 

“Some people live by it, and because there’s no cure for anxiety you have to get control of your feelings,” Kardashian said to Kendall. “You have to get a hold of it.”
