Nick Gordon made his second appearance on Dr. Phil last week for a two-part interview. The fiancé of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown opened up about their drug history and said that he has turned over a new leaf in the last year.

Gordon last appeared on the show in March 2015, where he admitted to abusing Xanax and alcohol, in addition to having suicidal thoughts. Dr. Phil offered to immediately send him to rehab, which he agreed to. More than a year later, Gordon said that his time in rehab changed his life for the better.

“Rehab was something I needed and I'm thankful that I got that opportunity,” he said. “I was drinking so much at the time because I could not deal with what was happening to Krissy. It mentally broke me. That's the lowest point in my life right there.” Dr. Phil also told Entertainment Tonight in a separate interview that Gordon “looked the best I’ve ever seen him look. He was bright-eyed, he was focused, he looked healthy. I really think the rehab has worked with him.”

Gordon revealed during the interview that he and Brown did drugs together socially, but that their use increased after Whitney Houston’s death because “that's kind of the only we knew how to deal with what had happened.” He also admitted that Brown had engaged in self-harm and was hospitalized during one such incident at the age of 14.

“She became very secluded and angry with a lot of people, and another thing is, she started self-mutilating,” said Gordon. “I would get so upset. Not angry, but upset, because most people that are cutting themselves are hurt and you can just tell she was hurt.”

Perhaps the most surprising part of the interview was Gordon revealing that Brown had nearly drowned in the bathtub just one night before her mother passed away in identical fashion in February 2012. He said that Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by her mother before it was too late.

"The whole hotel floor was soaked. She had drank too much ... ended up passing out in the tub,” said Gordon. “Whitney found her in there … she laid down with her baby and just held her.”

He also denied either killing Brown or causing any bodily harm to her. The family has filed a civil lawsuit against Gordon, claiming that his behavior "caused, among other things, substantial bodily harm" to Brown. He was also banned from seeing her in the hospital or attending her funeral.
