"Opana" is the brand name for the drug oxymorphone, an opioid pain medication that is commonly prescribed on a short-term basis to treat moderate to severe pain. Unfortunately, opana can be habit-forming. If you become addicted to this drug, you can begin your journey to recovery by entering an opana detox program.

Understanding Opana Detox

When you are addicted to an opioid like opana, your body craves the drug on a daily basis. Opana detox programs are designed to help you eliminate the drug from your body entirely while coping with these cravings. Once the drug is no longer in your system and your withdrawal symptoms have subsided, you will begin an addiction recovery program, which will help you learn how to deal with your addiction and stay sober.

Finding the Best Opana Detox

Determining which detoxification center is the best is largely a matter of evaluating your own priorities. Some of the characteristics you may consider as you compare different detox centers include:

  • Cost - Depending on your situation, your insurance policy may or may not cover the cost of your opana detoxification program. Likewise, facilities differ with regard to their policies on insurance payments, the fees they charge for their services and whether or not they offer payment plans.
  • Services - Different detox facilities offer different services. A given detox center may offer inpatient programs, outpatient programs, basic treatment services and/or alternative therapies. The best treatment center for you will be the one that offers the services you require or prefer.
  • Location - If your budget allows, you may choose to travel to a detox center in a remote or exotic location. However, if you don't have the money or you don't like to travel, you may prefer to stay closer to home during treatment.
  • Recovery Rate - An opana detox center's recovery rate is an indication of how well the program works. Programs with higher recovery rates tend to be more effective than those with lower recovery rates.

Keep in mind that some of the best opana detox centers are in high demand and fill up quickly, so call to reserve your place in the treatment program as soon as you make a decision. If you will be relying on your insurance policy to pay for your opana detox program, be sure that you get permission from your insurer before you begin treatment.
