LifeSynch Depression Treatment

Many people all over the world suffer from depression. In fact, according to the World Health Organization, this condition affects more than 350 million people around the globe. Left untreated, this condition can diminish your quality of life and impact your health. In the worst cases, depression leads to suicide.

Fortunately, you don’t have to continue to struggle with this problem. With the proper treatment, you can overcome depression and live a fuller life. Although depression treatment can be costly, you may not have to pay as much for treatment if you have coverage from LifeSynch.

About LifeSynch

LifeSynch is not a traditional insurance company. Instead, it is a subsidiary of Humana that provides supplemental services to employers who provide group insurance for their workforce. Products available from LifeSynch include Employee Assistance Programs, Behavioral Healthcare Programs and Behavior Change Coaching. Employers can choose to provide one or more of these programs to their employees. They can also customize the programs they offer to meet their needs.

Will LifeSynch Cover My Depression Treatment?

Because employers can choose to offer a variety of LifeSynch programs, it can be difficult to determine whether your treatment will be covered. In general, LifeSynch won’t cover your treatment unless your employer provides an Employee Assistance Program or a Behavioral Healthcare Program through LifeSynch. With an Employee Assistance Program only, you may have access to counseling services for depression. With a Behavioral Healthcare Program, however, you may have access to more intensive treatments, such as inpatient treatment at LifeSynch Depression Treatment Centers.

Other Considerations

Some other factors may affect depression treatment coverage through LifeSynch, such as:

  • Type of Treatment – Some treatments your doctor recommends may not be covered by your LifeSynch plan. Likewise, some treatments may require more cost sharing than others.
  • Choice of Provider – LifeSynch may require you to choose specific providers for your depression treatment. For example, in order to receive coverage, you may be required to select one of the available LifeSynch Depression Treatment Centers in your area, as opposed to an out-of-network provider.
  • Policy Requirements – Some policies may require you to obtain a referral from a doctor and/or precertification before certain types of treatment. Before you make appointments at LifeSynch Depression Treatment Centers, be sure to get the authorization you need.
