Ozzy Osbourne Admits Sex Addiction, Undergoing 'Intense Therapy'

Ozzy Osbourne has been dealing with his drug and alcohol addiction for decades, but a new report confirms that the Black Sabbath frontman is also grappling with sex addiction.

The rocker released a statement in which he confirmed that “over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction.” Ozzy, 67, and his wife of 33 years, Sharon, split in May after it was revealed that he had been having a four-year affair with a woman named Michelle Pugh. However, Ozzy revealed in June that he and Sharon are back together and working to repair their marriage.

Pugh told People in a new interview that Ozzy had “courted” her and the pair enjoyed an “old-fashioned romance.” But Ozzy denied her story and said any feelings of romance that Pugh had weren’t reciprocated.

“I’m sorry if Ms. Pugh took our sexual relationship out of context. I’d also like to apologize to the other women I have been having sexual relationships with. Out of bad comes good,” read the statement. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, he says he has gone into "intense therapy."

"I am mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife is at my side to support me."

Sharon briefly left Ozzy in April 2013 after he fell off the wagon. He confirmed his relapse in a Facebook post, writing that “for the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober." She took him back after he began attending AA meetings, which he still continues to do.

"I thought I was gonna lose my family at one point,” said Ozzy in December 2013. "[Sharon] just said, 'Look, I've got my own thing going on and I can't deal with you anymore. Get the fuck out, sort yourself out, then we'll talk.' I don't blame her in the slightest."

Recovery is a common theme in the Osbourne household. Their son, Jack, has been sober for over 13 years. Their daughter, Kelly, has been in rehab multiple times for addictions to prescription medication. Although she admitted to having an occasional glass of champagne, she has remained drug-free for about eight years.

Sharon also spoke about the scandal on Wednesday’s episode of The Talk, revealing that “he’s been going [to] outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months and after the tour … he goes into inpatient for three months.” She admitted that “it’s hard because it affects the whole family and it’s quite embarrassing,” but said she was “proud he has come out and admitted it, finally."
