Located in the Los Angeles suburb of Tarzana, California, Infinity Treatment Centers: Infinity in the Valley is a residential substance abuse treatment facility for young adults. It is a part of the New Vista Behavioral Health Network, which also offers an adult residential program in Malibu and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at its Agoura Hills location.

Facility and Meals

The facility is located in an upscale neighborhood amidst the mountains of Los Angeles. The 4,500 square foot home is gated, but close to dining and shopping. The residence holds six clients at a time. Double bedrooms have large beds and often also have attached private bathrooms. There is fitness equipment, including machines and free-weights on-site, and residents are offered yoga twice weekly. Telephone and wireless Internet access are provided, so clients can maintain contact with educators, employers or family.

Nutritious, gourmet meals are provided by a private chef. Special diets or food allergies can be can accommodate, and clients also take weekly trips to the grocery store to pick out snacks. Food is served family style.

Treatment Protocol and Team

There is an on-site detox program available, which includes around-the-clock oversight by LVNs or RNs and an on-call physician. Individual and gender-specific group therapy are provided, and residents are given 24/7 clinical support. One-on-one therapy helps each resident establish a personal recovery plan. Clients also attend nearby 12-step meetings off-site.

Evidence-based treatments are integrated with holistic practices, including establishing life skills and coping strategies, CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, identifying values and beliefs, solution-focused therapy and establishing plans for the future. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available if necessary. In situations with dual diagnoses such as process addictions, eating disorders, PTSD, depression and anxiety, psychiatric medication management is provided.

The program emphasizes a mind and body connection. Daily treatment involves fitness training and yoga, mindfulness meditation, process groups, psychoeducational lectures, individual therapy, equine therapy and experiential therapy. Clients are transported to off-site 12-step meetings every evening.

Family counseling encourages the participation of the whole household in a client’s recovery. It helps teach loved ones how to aid residents in treatment compliance and motivate them during crises, to hold clients accountable for their actions, to maintain healthy boundaries and avoid enabling behaviors. Additionally, families are taught to develop coping strategies and prioritize self-care.

There is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) available at Infinity Treatment Centers’ Agoura Hills location for those who need additional treatment after a residential stay at Tarzana.

Clinical staff at Infinity in the Valley includes a consulting internist and psychiatrists, a PhD-level therapist, an MFT-I, an LMFT, nurses and a case manager.

Included in treatment are yoga, creative therapies and meditation. Equine and recreational therapy, including hiking, biking and walks through the nearby nature preserve, are also offered.
