Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, star of the Fast & Furious series and the recent Hercules, revealed over the weekend that his mother and cousin were struck head-on by drunk driver. Both miraculously survived the crash.
His mother, Ata Maivia-Johnson, and cousin, Lina Fanene, were driving home from a fundraiser the family hosts every year called the Usos Foundation Banquet, when a drunk driver smashed head-on into Maivia-Johnson's Cadillac Escalade.
According to police, the unidentified driver was also operating on a suspended license and sped through an intersection, before driving over a median and crashing into Maivia-Johnson's vehicle. His mother suffered bruised lungs and chest pains, while Fanene broke her collarbone and injured her arm.
"First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them," Johnson wrote on Instagram after posting a photo of the horrific accident.
"But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days," he added. "Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them."
