It’s a bit late for Mother’s Day related news but it’s nevertheless our duty to report that Whitney Houston isn’t the only Houston who’s doing time in rehab right now. According to The National Enquirer, the daughter Houston sired with fellow substance abuser Bobby Brown has also allegedly entered a Malibu rehab. facility.
The Enquirer reports:

“In a brutal mother-daughter showdown, longtime substance abuser Whitney Houston threatened to send her troubled teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina to rehab. But Krissi…shrieked back that she wasn’t going alone!

Now both women have checked into separate rehab facilities in Malibu, CA, to get treatment for their addictions.

‘You’re ruining the family name!’ Whitney screeched during the recent blowout. ‘Whether you like it or not—you’re going to rehab!’

But Krissi, who knows all about her mother’s struggles with booze and drugs, yelled back angrily: ‘What about you? You’re the one who’s destroying us! You’re the one who’s a mess!’

‘If you can do drugs and booze, so canI! Now you’re demanding I go to rehab. If I go, you’re going too!’”

Given the genetic nature of alcoholism—and what we can only imagine was a potentially less than healthy childhood—it isn’t shocking that the only child from the union that will forever be blamed for Whitney’s fall from grace might have issues with drugs. And it’s hard not to feel for the 18-year-old, who’s been a target of tabloid news her whole life. So take these with whatever grains of salt seems right, but Krissy—as she’s known to friends—has racked up quite a bit of news for her indiscretions over the years. Some of the missteps are familiar to any student of Hollywood wild child-dom: The pictures of her supposedly snorting coke. The requisite sex tape. The “I was set up by a former lover” claim. Then there were the headlines that veered from the standard path, such as the news of an incident involving alcohol and a gun, not to mention the story about Krissy and mom making something of a scene at a recent Prince concert.

The fact that mom and daughter are doing rehab separately bodes well for their recovery, not to mention the fact that Bobbi Kristina finally made it there after all those claims that she wouldn’t go. We’re hoping for the best—not only because the two women deserve it, but also because we, too, are tired of writing “Houston, We Have a Problem” headlines.
