- John Broman
John Broman was in his early twenties when he was sentenced to 198 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons for bank robbery. While incarcerated he kicked his heroin addiction through a daily meditation and yoga practice. John started writing about the realities of prison life for VICE and other publications while being transferred throughout the system. He also worked with professors from West Virginia University along with BOP officials in creating and teaching reentry classes for inmates in the penitentiary. Since his release he’s been working towards his yoga certification and completing a book about his time behind the walls of the most dangerous prisons in America.
