Ernest Kurtz

Dr. Ernest Kurtz is the author of several books, including, Not-God: A History of Alcoholics Anonymous. He taught American History and the History of Religion in America at the University of Georgia and Loyola University of Chicago. From 1978 to 1997, and served on the faculty of the Rutgers University Summer School of Alcohol Studies and from 1987 to 1997 at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration Summer Institutes. Ernie retired to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he lived for twenty-five years with his wife, Linda Farris Kurtz, who is also an educator and author. Ernest Kurtz died on January 19, 2015 at home of pancreatic cancer.
