Chicago native and rising star Gina Rodriguez bared a side of herself that fans don’t often see on the red carpet or on TV.

The 32-year-old star of the CW comedy-drama series, Jane the Virgin, posted a 10-second portrait of herself on Instagram, shot by Oslo-based artist Anton Soggiu as part of his #TenSecondPortraits series.

The actress smiles wide in front of Soggiu’s lens—fresh faced, no makeup, wearing a Yankees baseball cap. “It’s always great to be in front of his lens but this time it was just me,” she wrote in the caption. “Bare and exposed in the streets of LA. No makeup. No styling. Just me.”

Rodriguez took the opportunity to share that she—like many others—suffers from anxiety, despite her famous bombastic personality. “I suffer from anxiety. And watching this clip I could see how anxious I was, but I empathize with myself,” she wrote. “I wanted to protect her and tell her it’s okay to be anxious, there is nothing different or strange about having anxiety and I will prevail.”

“I like watching this video,” she concludes. “It makes me uncomfortable but there is a freedom I feel, maybe even an acceptance. This is me. Puro Gina.”

Soggiu’s other 10 second portraits, which can be viewed on his Instagram, are just as beautiful and revealing. The artist focuses on his subjects for 10 whole seconds—and the rest is up to them. Everybody has a different reaction, but the beauty of each portrait’s simplicity and the subject’s vulnerability is the same.

More and more famous faces are revealing that anxiety affects their lives, too. This month, actress Goldie Hawn admitted to her past struggles with anxiety, depression and self-doubt as a young performer. But now she’s channeling her experience to help teach children how to cope and not lose sight of the important things in life.

Selena Gomez is another budding mental health advocate. The pop star cut her tour short last year to take a much-needed break. “My self-esteem was shot,” she said this year. “I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting onstage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable.” Gomez entered treatment because she “needed time to just be OK.”
