Sober Kim Richards Is "Super Blessed"
The Real Housewives star is mending her relationships and showing her sober side on screen.
Fans of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills can expect no more booze-fueled antics from star Kim Richards this season. The reality star and former child star of 1975 flick Escape to Witch Mountain has celebrated one year sober after completing her third rehab stint for alcohol abuse last January. "I'm sober and I feel great!" she tells US Magazine. After two seasons of erratic behavior on the show, Kim says she's looking forward to showing a calmer, more mature side of herself on screen. "I filmed the other seasons knowing I was doing not the right thing. And that was a choice I made," she says. "I've grown a lot, [my kids] have grown a lot and you will see [that] through the season. It's been an amazing journey, for sure." A mother to four children, Richards says the biggest transition after leaving treatment was trying to resume her normal life: "Being sober and coming home from treatment, reconnecting with my kids, was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. I came home thinking, 'Gosh, everything's back to the way it used to be.'" It also seems that the reality star's recovery has helped mend her strained relationship with older sister and Real Housewives co-star Kyle Richards-Umansky. "I'm so grateful today for the relationships I have with my kids, my sister and my friends, God, my higher power," says Richards. "Spiritually, I'm super blessed."
