The Lindsay Lohan roller coaster has hit another dip; she was arrested and charged with third-degree assault early yesterday, when a nightclub brawl followed an innocent-seeming visit to squeaky-clean Justin Bieber's New York concert. "A dispute broke out at Avenue, located at 116 10th Avenue. A female 26-year-old assaulted a female 28-year old. Lindsay Lohan was arrested and charged with assault,” says Detective Mark Nell of the NYPD. He adds that LiLo punched a Florida woman named Tiffany Eve Mitchell in the face, and "has now left the precinct and was given a desk appearance at a later date." The New York Post quotes a man believed to be Mitchell's husband saying, "Lindsay Lohan got drunk and went crazy...hit my wife." Further sources allege that Lohan was on a drinking binge—something her busy lawyer, Mark Heller, denies: “Once again, Lindsay Lohan is a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame,” he says. “I can tell when I was with her this morning she was in great condition. She certainly wasn’t intoxicated, certainly not under the influence of drugs.” The actress is due back in court on January 11. Besides her recent arrest in New York, LiLo was also charged by the Santa Monica City Attorney this week with three misdemeanor counts tied to her car accident back in June. Her chaotic recent fortunes have included a crazed week of family strife, dreadful reviews for her TV movie Liz & Dick, and a $100,000 bail-out from her pal Charlie Sheen.
