A British hairdresser who was arrested for punching, kicking, and spitting on a nightclub bouncer in  Scotland, has become an overnight tabloid sensation after offering up a rather novel defense for her crime. 27-year-old Shannon Flynn, who claims to suffer from both alcohol and sex addiction, says that she flies into to uncontrollable rages unless she makes love at least four times a day. The sexed-up stylist was arrested last October after she allegedly engaged in a brutal attack on a bouncer at a tony Edinburgh club. "Hardly anyone can understand what I am going through on a daily basis," she wailed in an interview following her arrest. "Every hour of every day, all I can think about is sex." Emboldened to admit to her own sex addiction upon watching the travails of Tiger Woods, Flynn told the judge that she suffers acute withdrawal symptoms whenever she abstains from sex. She admits to throwing a cell phone at a former lover who once dared to deny her satisfaction—"I'm not usually violent, but my desire for sex takes over all my senses"—but insists that her assault on the bouncer was intensified by her alcohol problems. Happily, she says that she has since "calmed down" considerably on both fronts, popping anti-addiction pills for her alcoholism and undergoing intensive counseling for her sex obsession. "I've not got a boyfriend. I'm staying away from men," she recently told British tabloid reporters, who are unsurprisingly obsessed with her case. Now unemployed Flynn is currently living with her mother, and is due to be sentenced next month.
