Former 'SNL' Star Chris Kattan Arrested for DUI
Spotted swerving on the road and hitting a parked Department of Transportation vehicle, the comedian was found to have been under the influence of prescription medication.
Comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan was arrested for DUI early Monday morning after reportedly hitting another car.
A driver spotted the A Night at the Roxbury star “weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds” on the 101 Freeway in California's San Fernando Valley and alerted the California Highway Patrol. Some time after the call, Kattan allegedly swerved into a coned-off construction zone and hit a Department of Transportation vehicle from behind.
Law enforcement arrived on the scene to apprehend Kattan just after 1:00 a.m. and noted the 43-year-old actor seemed “out of it.” Kattan himself admitted to his arresting officers that he had been driving under the influence of prescription medication. Fortunately, no one was in the parked DOT vehicle at the time of impact and while his car was totaled, the actor himself was uninjured and was able to exit the vehicle on his own - albeit not without a stumble or two, according to some TMZ footage of the incident.
The former Saturday Night Live actor was kept in jail until around 7:30 a.m. when he posted $15,000 bail. He is set to appear in court on March 3.
