After we ran our exclusive interview with comedian Andy Dick last week, Fix co-founder and interventionist Joe Schrank was invited on to Howard 100 News to discuss the star's complex and controversial addictions—as well as the much-publicized slurs that the former NewsRadio star and Howard Stern recently flung at each other. "A lot of addicts and alcoholics, they're champion grudge-holders, for sure," commented Schrank. He added of Andy Dick, who is currently in an out-patient rehab, "I think that he's a hypersensitive individual." The radio item highlights the self-contradictory nature of Dick's remarks in our interview—he strikes a conciliatory note toward Stern in places, while renewing his attack in others—a phenomenon that has also been observed in addicts other than this one. But as Schrank pointed out, no one is likely to suffer more than Dick himself: "I think what struck me the most is that he said very clearly that his addiction and addictive behavior is the reason why no one will hire him."
