America’s Next Top Model Kiara Belen Arrested for DUI
The former runner-up and favorite of host Tyra Banks was seen driving erratically in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles.
According to the celebrity news site TMZ, America’s Next Top Model runner-up in 2012, Kiara Belen, was arrested Saturday morning in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The 23-year-old model was pulled over in Hollywood after police noticed her driving erratically. Law enforcement performed a standard field sobriety test that Belen failed miserably and she was taken into custody on the drunk driving charge. A few hours later, she was released on $5,000 bail and seemed to make a cryptic reference to the arrest to her 13,000 followers on Twitter. "I abide by the Law of Least Resistance," Belen tweeted. "Everything is how it should be."
In 2012, Belen rose to the top of season 19 of America’s Next Top Model, where she quickly became a favorite of host Tyra Banks despite the supermodel’s raging outburst over Belen’s "bad attitude" (see below). Belen has had a rough history, having run away from home at 16 years old after years of abuse. But she did display talents in areas outside modeling by earning a scholarship to play basketball for the University of California, Irvine.
